1. The Software
ProtoForge is a desktop application for macOS, Windows, and Linux that generates working code, circuit diagrams, 3D models, bills of materials, and assembly instructions from text descriptions. It runs entirely on your machine using the AI provider API key you supply.
2. Acceptable Use
By downloading and using ProtoForge, you agree to:
- Use the software for lawful purposes only
- Provide your own API key from a supported AI provider
- Not attempt to circumvent the ProtoForge Plan subscription check
- Comply with the terms of service of your chosen AI provider
3. Hardware Safety Disclaimer
ProtoForge generates circuit diagrams, wiring layouts, firmware, bills of materials, and assembly instructions. These are starting points, not final designs.
- Always verify component ratings, power requirements, and safety clearances before building.
- Double-check pin assignments, voltage levels, and grounding before applying power.
- Follow electrical safety best practices, including current limiting, fusing, and isolation.
- We are not responsible for damaged equipment, injury, or loss resulting from hardware you build using ProtoForge output.
4. No Warranty
The software and all generated output are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will meet your requirements, that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any defects will be corrected.
5. Subscription — ProtoForge Plan
The optional ProtoForge Plan ($6/month, billed through PayPal) unlocks hardware mode, sub-agents, deep-thinking, and unlimited prompts.
- Subscriptions are managed through PayPal. You can cancel anytime from your PayPal dashboard.

- If your subscription lapses, the app reverts to free-tier software mode with 1 prompt per day.
